As I entered Bar Code Pub in Yerevan to hear soft rock music, a young lady, Eline Avetisyan got to the stage, she song with intensity and passion, through emotion and motivation, dynamically, and most importantly from her heart. She sang soft rock, blues and jazz, and I decided to try to do something for her that few people did for me, to encourage her, to believe in her and embrace her art and talent.

-Dear Eline, tell me about yourself, how old were you when you started singing, what made you sing, what motivated you?

Dear Peter, first of all I would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity that you are honoring me for the interview.
To begin with, my family has a musical background. My father and brother they can play several musical instruments and sing very well and we have very sensitive ears for understanding music.
My father motivated me by introducing great singers and musicians and I am very grateful about it. Through my father I understood what is good music and he thought me how to sing and play guitar.
Music is my inspiration. In my opinion, music is the purest phenomenon in the universe.
I started my singing path with my vocal master Lusine Azaryan and it is an honor for me to learn and practice at her presence.
She is one of the most incredible souls that I have ever seen in my life, who inspired me a lot. I have to say that she had a great influence on me and I learned a lot from her, for which I am very grateful.

Armenian Female Soft Rock Vocalist Blues Jazz Singer

-With which bands do you sing currently, where, is it now only a hobby, do you intend and try to evolve to a professional level?

At this moment, I am trying to focus more on my singing path to become a professional singer. I am not cooperating with any bands, however I have a good musician friend, who invites me to their jam session. I have this opportunity to sing with a high level band and professional musicians. I am thankful to Paris-Yerevan band, especially my dear friend Ara Mihranyan for his great support.

-I noticed you usually sings blues and soft rock, in English, are those your only favorites, or there are other types and languages, have you tried to sing in Armenian, I am sure it suits your style, bands like Eilnee Khatcjadourian for example

You are right. At this stage, I am more into jazz, blues and soft rock singing styles. To the question about language, in my opinion music is the common language and it does not recognize any limits and languages. However, I sing in English, French, Spanish and in Armenian. I really enjoy listening and singing Armenian spiritual music, especially I am trying to interpret and sing the music of our greatest of all Komitas. For this again, I want to emphasize, that my vocal master, who I have already mentioned above, Lusine Azaryan she is motivating us to sing Armenian spiritual music in the churches, which is a great experience for us to feel and understand the deepest roots and meaning of our spiritual music.

- Would you also consider singing gothic rock, I think you will also perform well there?

At this very moment, I am not into this style of singing.

- Who are your favorite bands on international level, on Armenian national level, which bands inspire you?

I have to admit that Pink Floyd changed my perspective of life and music, overall. And it opened a wide window in my heart. It helped me to find more about myself. Hence, I was under influence of the bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Doors and many other great artists and musicians.

-I saw you singing, with emotion and intensity, when you are on stage, what are your emotions, what drives you on stage

Music comes from my heart and soul. On the stage, I am in another realm, where I cannot measure time and space. I am completely into the music and living the moment, which can be perceived as emotional and intense performance.

-Do you have your own songs, or now only you sing the song of others bands and musicians, if no, are there plans and attempts to sing songs of your own?

At this step, I cannot find myself to write my own music. That is why I am working on greatest hits, which are close to my heart and to my singing style. I would say, that I really want to reach the high professional level to create my own song and music. I am practicing very hard and doing my best.

What plead and call would you make, for the state and people with means encourage like talents such as yourself, and the mass media

I really admire people who are encouraging and motivating young talents, such as you dear Peter. I really appreciate all your efforts. You and people like you, who encourage talents are doing great job by presenting them, who need to be heard and seen. Thank you.

Thank you and good luck in your future endeavors.
